Congress protests over ‘mistreatment’ of farmers
Senior Congress leaders and former minister Jagmohan Kang today staged a protest against the “unprecedented mistreatment of farmers” by the Aam Aadmi Party-led (AAP) state government in Majri block of Kharar.
The protesters burnt an effigy of the Punjab government and raised slogans against the party and the government.
Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Kang said, “Punjab has been an agricultural state for centuries. But these days, the arrogant government of the Aam Aadmi Party has mistreated and pushed the farmers. All this will be recorded in history with dark, painful letters, never has there been such mistreatment of farmers.”
“Today the entire country, society, class strongly condemns it,” he added.
The former minister further alleged that the dictatorship/police government of Chief Minister (CM) Bhagwant Mann has “crossed all limits” by “beating, pushing and insulting the brave farmers”.
