The Chandigarh Congress today expressed shock over the response of the BJP government, which unequivocally stated that no ownership rights would be granted to residents of rehabilitation units in the city’s colonies.

HS Lucky, president of the Chandigarh Congress, strongly criticised the city BJP and its leaders for misleading the residents by collecting forms under the pretext of granting ownership rights and even distributing sweets to celebrate the supposed initiative.

Lucky said the BJP had played with the sentiments of the underprivileged.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
