Cooperative movement a strong pillar of rural economy: Haryana Guv
Was addressing the closing ceremony of the state-level 72nd Cooperative Week at Yavanika Garden
Haryana Governor Ashim Kumar Ghosh said the cooperative movement has played a vital role in transforming the rural economy for decades, generating employment opportunities and strengthening social unity.
He was addressing the closing ceremony of the state-level 72nd Cooperative Week at Yavanika Garden, Sector 5. Prior to the ceremony, the Governor and his wife, Mitra Ghosh, Cooperation Minister Arvind Sharma and his wife, Rita Sharma, visited the stalls showcasing indigenous products set up by cooperative societies.
The Cooperative Song was also launched at the event, which the Governor described as “not merely an exhibition of products but a glimpse into the courage, aspirations and daily efforts of thousands of families”.
“While women are progressing towards financial self-reliance, the youth are turning innovation into enterprise, and farmers are increasing their income and productivity through cooperative institutions,” he further added.
The Governor said under the leadership of Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini, Haryana ranks among the leading states in the field of cooperation.
He also felicitated the Cooperative and Swadeshi Fair winners.
