Cops distribute helmets among riders in Panchkula
The initiative undertaken in collaboration with Paras Hospital
In a commendable initiative to promote road safety, the Panchkula traffic police, in collaboration with Paras Hospital, held a special awareness drive at the Sector 11/15 junction on Friday. During the campaign, free helmets were distributed among two-wheeler riders, reminding them of their safety and responsibility towards their families.
Unlike the usual apprehension motorists feel on seeing the police, officials led by ACP (Traffic) Surender Singh and SHO (Traffic) Varinder Kumar greeted riders with smiles and personally helped them wear helmets. The gesture surprised many, who later praised the police for their humane approach.
ACP Surender Singh urged riders to adopt the simple habit of wearing helmets, stressing that a family’s well-being depends on the safety of its members. DCP (Traffic) Manpreet Singh Sudan said every life matters. He said even one saved life was a victory. Police Commissioner Sibasn Kabiraj termed the initiative an excellent example of responsible policing.
