Area councillor Gurpreet Singh Gabi inaugurated recarpeting work of roads of Sector 45 C (V-4 road) and 45-A (V-5 road), falling under ward No. 34 of the Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh.

Gabi said that the roads would be reconstructed at an estimated cost of Rs 1.85 crore. He said that in the past only repair or recarpeting work was done, and repeated layering had raised the road level nearly to that of the footpaths, leading to waterlogging during rains. Rainwater would often flow into residential areas, causing great inconvenience.

He added that this time, the old road layers would be completely removed and the new roads would be constructed with dual layers of 20 mm and 40 mm thickness to ensure durability and strength.
