Nearly 60 students (future coaches) of NIS, Patiala, are attending a two-week practical training programme under the guidance of former international coach and general secretary, Chandigarh Badminton Association (CBA), Surinder Mahajan.

The course is conducted by the Sports Authority of India (SAI) NIS, Patiala, at the badminton courts of Chandigarh University, Gharuan.

“Students from different parts of the nation are here to under go a practical training. They have been given extensive trainning related to badminton. They are being trained for coaching budding players,” said Mahajan. He further added, “The assessment of these participants will be made completely on the basis of their performances. Besides practical training, they have been also taught about the importance of coaching and how to maintain a correct balance between players and personal life.” —
