Court acquits man booked in three-year-old rape case

Special Judge, fast track court, here has acquitted a person, Kuneel, a resident of Mauli Complex, booked in rape case three years ago. The police had registered the case against the accused on a complaint filed by a woman on June 21, 2021, at Mauli Jagran police station, Chandigarh.
As per the FIR, the woman told the police that she and her husband were residing at Mauli Complex, Chandigarh. On June 21, 2021, she was sleeping in her house in the afternoon when someone knocked on her door. When she woke up and opened the door, she saw Kuneel standing outside. She said the accused was residing on the first floor of the same house.
On asking him for the reason of his coming there, the accused pushed her in and locked the door from inside. She tried to push him away, but the accused sexually assaulted her and also threatened her that if she told anyone about this incident to anyone, he would kill her and her husband. Thereafter, he fled from the house.
In the evening, she told the incident to her husband. Thereafter, the police was called and she filed the complaint against the accused. After completion of investigation the challan against the accused was presented in the court.
Vinay Yadav, counsel of the accused, argued that the accused had been falsely implicated in the case. He said the complainant had also not supported the case of the prosecution. After hearing the arguments the court acquitted the accused of the charges.
