Those who have walked free are Abhishek, alias Toti, Somvir, Gaurav, Chirag, alias Moni, Shiv Kumar, alias Chunni Lal, and Prem Babu, alias Kulli.

The case dated back to March 17, 2024, and was lodged following a complaint of Arjun, a resident of Maloya Colony. The complainant had stated that he, along with his friend Sahil, were crossing the Maloya Colony market on a bike when the accused stopped their bike. They had a grudge against Sahil. While his friend managed to escape from the spot, his bid to run away proved futile. The complainant had stated that Chunni Lal and Chirag, who were carrying knives, stabbed him on the stomach. They ran away as people started gathering, he claimed.

A case was registered under Sections 147, 148, 149, 307, 324, 341 and 506 of the IPC at the Maloya police station. During the investigation, the accused were arrested.

Siddhant Pandit and Vikas Rana, the counsel for the Chunni Lal, argued that the complainant and the eye witness had not supported the case of the prosecution. They said both had not identified the accused persons in the court.

The public prosecutor argued that the prosecution had proved the case beyond a shadow of doubt.

After hearing of the arguments, the court acquitted all the accused of the charges framed against them.
