A local court today dismissed an appeal filed by a 14-year-old boy in a case of sodomy.

In 2019, the teenager was held guilty of sexually assaulting a six-year-old boy by the Juvenile Justice Board and awarded 3-year reformation under Section 377 of the IPC and Section 6 of the POCSO Act. A fine of Rs 1,000 was imposed on him.

The court upheld the order of the board. In a complaint to the police in 2018, the father of the victim stated that his son was about to leave for school, when he narrated the incident of sexual assault on him. The child told him that the accused took him to his house and sodomised him. — TNS
