The police had registered an FIR on the complaint of Negi’s wife in September 2021. In the complaint she had stated that her husband was into sale-purchase of property. On July 4, 2020, a friend of her husband called her and informed her hat her husband was not feeling well and suffering from stomach pain.

He told her that they had taken him to a private hospital in Mohali and asked her to come over. When she reached there, her husband told her that he was having pain in the lower abdomen. Later, he died. The police added murder charge following a forensic report indicating traces of poison in the body of the victim.

Counsel of the accused said that there was no evidence to connect the petitioner with the alleged murder of Negi. Public prosecutor opposed the bail plea. After hearing the arguments the court dismissed the bail application of the accused.
