A case was registered under Sections 308(2), 3 (5),140 (3) and 61(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita at the Sector 36 police station on the complaint of Constable Surender Kumar.

The complainant stated that on September 24 last year, he along with another cop was on patrol duty when around 7.20 pm, he saw silver car with Delhi number parked near Fragrance Garden in Sector 36. There were three persons in the car. One of the two persons in the rear seat was banging the windowpane with his hands. As he and the other cop went closer, the car driver tried to sped away. They chased the car and stopped it behind the ISBT in Sector 43.

The person banging his hands on the windowpane identified himself as Manish Bangale and claimed that he had been kidnapped by the other two persons, identified as Ravi Sharma and Ranjit. Bhangale accused the duo of torture. He alleged that they wanted him to transfer money from different bank accounts by hacking. He said they took him to various locations in Punjab before finally being brought to Chandigarh.

After hearing the arguments of the counsel for the accused and the additional public prosecutor, the court dismissed the bail plea.
