The COVID-19 tally in Chandigarh touched 800 on Thursday as 20 new cases were reported from the city.

Of the 800 cases, 256 are currently active as 531 patients have been cured till date and there have been 13 deaths.

Of the 20 new cases, the oldest is an 80-year-old woman from Bapudham Colony and the youngest is a 5-year-old boy from Sector 32.

There are 11 men and 9 women among the new cases.

Five patients, including four men, were discharged after their recovery from coronavirus today.

The first case in Chandigarh was reported on March 18 and it took 47 days to cross 100 cases on May 4.

On May 19, in 15 more days, the total cases crossed 200.

On June 2, after, 14 days, the cases crossed the 300 mark and on June 20 the number crossed 400.

After 18 days, on July 8 the city crossed the 500 mark and on July 14, after just 6 days, the number rose to 600.

On July 19, the cases crossed 700 and in another 4 days, the number has reached 800.

June 2 - First 300 (14 days)

June 20 - First 400 (18 days)

July 8 - First 500 (18 days)

July 14- First 600 (6 days)

July 19- First 700 (5 days)

July 23- First 800 (4 days)
