Chandigarh, July 14
As per the directions of the Central Government, the UT Administration will provide precaution doses for 18 years and above beneficiaries free of cost at government health facilities from tomorrow.
Official spokesperson said a vaccination campaign, “Covid Vaccine Amrit Mahotsav”, would be undertaken for 75 days i.e. from July 15 to September 30.
Precaution doses of Covishield and Covaxin would be administered free of cost to all eligible beneficiaries in all major government hospitals of Chandigarh.
The spokesperson said the “Har Ghar Dastak 2.0” vaccination campaign was already on. A special drive for Covid vaccination camps in various schools would be launched in Chandigarh in a few days.
A gap of six months (26 weeks) from the date of the second dose is a must to receive the precaution dose. The vaccine used in the second dose would be administered to the beneficiaries. Vaccination certificates would also be provided at the site. The Health Department has urged residents to get vaccinated to prevent Covid spread.
