Covid: Two test -ve, 3 more reach PGI

Two suspected Covid cases admitted to the PGI on Tuesday have tested negative while three fresh cases reached the hospital today.
The new suspected cases have been admitted to the communicable disease isolation ward.

Students can use face mask, sanitiser
According to a public notice issued by the Secretary, CBSE, students may carry face masks and sanitisers to the examination centres.
A 30-year-old man from Phase XI in Mohali, who complained of mild cough, had visited Indonesia and Singapore. A 38-year-old woman from Zirakpur had visited Bangkok and reported to be suffering from mild cough and fever. Her 36-year-old friend has also been admitted after she showed symptom of mild cough.
Earlier, two city residents were quarantined at the PGI. The Sector 50 resident had a history of travel to Indonesia and Singapore while a Sector 29 resident had travelled to Bali in Indonesia.
As per the UT Health Department, over 200 personal protection equipment kits are available and order for 500 has been placed. N95 masks and triple layer masks have been procured. Other requirements like viral transport medium kits, gloves, consumables etc are adequate.
There are 11 beds in the isolation ward at the GMSH-16 and ten each at the PGI and the GMCH-32.
The audio/visual clips have been made and put on the social media for mass awareness. The roundabouts, where the public address system is available, are being used to sentsitise people to the dos and don’ts to keep Covid at bay. A request has been made for allowing display of slides on Covid awareness in city theatres.
Sensitise schoolstudents
The Deputy Secretary to the Government of India has written to the State Project Director, UT, to create awareness among students about precautionary interventions such as frequent hand wash, respiratory etiquettes (using handkerchief over mouth while coughing/sneezing, use of tissue paper or using a sleeve of shirt covering upper arm, staying away from school when sick, avoiding public gathering etc)
