Chandigarh, April 19
Central Reserve Police Force’s (CRPF) 51st Battalion is daily giving 200 packets of cooked food to labourers and migrants to people residing in different colonies in Chandigarh amid coronavirus lockdown.
The distribution of cooked food is being done with the coordination of the Chandigarh Administration.
This exercise will continue to mitigate their problem due to the lockdown order.
The battalion, along with Chandigarh Police, is enforcing the lockdown in the city and maintaining extra vigil at various ‘nakas’ to check migration.
It is manning 18 ‘nakas’ along the outer periphery of Chandigarh and is also performing duties like maintaining law and order, VIP protection and security to Punjab Raj Bhawan and Model Jail, Burail.
