The Chandigarh Transport Undertaking (CTU) has taken an initiative to connect with tricity people by organising “nukkad nataks” at the ISBT, Sector 43, Chandigarh.

The CTU has engaged the Samvaad Theater Group to organise such “nataks” every fortnight to create awareness among the public regarding the projects and initiatives being taken by the CTU and the UT Administration. A “nukkad natak” was presented today to promote the newly introduced electric buses on express routes. The CTU has already deployed 26 electric buses on three express routes — I1E (ISBT-17 to Kharar), SU4E PGI to the Panchkula bus stand) and 551E (ISBT-43 to the PGI).

The express route will have a frequency of 10 minutes with limited stoppages to curtail travel time for commuters. The other 14 electric buses will also be put into operation by December-end.
