Chandigarh, December 23
NCC Cadet Dalbir Singh, who is a student of Aerospace Engineering of Chandigarh University, Gharuan, has won the gold medal in Aeromodelling RC Flying Competition during the All-India Vayu Sainik Camp (AIVSC-2019) at the Jodhpur Airforce Station.
The AIVSC is the most prestigious national-level camp organised by the Air Wing of the National Cadet Corps to encourage and motivate cadets to choose a career in the Indian Air Force. More than 600 Air Wing Cadets from across the country took part in the 10-day AIVSC.
Dalbir Singh, who aspires to be an Indian Air Force officer after completing his engineering, hails from Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab. He was a part of team of Punjab Directorate and represented 3 PB Air Squadron, National Cadet Corps, Patiala.
Dalbir Singh said: “The AIVSC is the apex aviation training centre and is designed to expose the cadets to a strenuous military way of life.”
The cadets also got an opportunity to fly in an Indian Air Force Mi-17 helicopter.
