The State Transport Authority and Chandigarh Traffic Police have failed to check overloaded vehicles carrying goods, debris and construction material, among others in the city. Overloaded vehicles pose a great threat to commuters. The cops rarely check permit and load carrying capacity of trucks and canters. Even their headlights, indicators, pressure horns and pollution certificate are hardly checked by the policemen. The traffic police should be held responsible for failing to rein in overloaded and modified vehicles, which have become a source of pollution and nuisance on the roads.

Will 24×7 water supply be reality?

On the one hand, the MC claims to supply 24×7 drinking water to the residents in the city. On the other hand, the civic body cannot supply water on a daily basis. Every fortnight, something goes wrong with water supply system. The councillors rather than getting the issue addressed, go to leisure trips every year and waste public money. We have not elected them to spend tax payers money on excursion. Why cannot the authorities change pipes with the same money?

Electricity Pole lying in middle of road

An electicity pole has fallen right in the middle of a road in Sector 15-A, Chandigarh. The pole has been lying at same spot for more than a couple of weeks now. As a result, traffic jam is witnessed at the entry point and this electricity pole can lead to a fatal accident, especially during night. Neither the MC, nor the Electricity Department has come forward to remove the pole.
