Fatehgarh Sahib DC conducts meeting to curb corruption in registry process

Deputy Commissioner Dr Sona Thind today held a meeting with deed writers, lawyers, typists and property dealers to convey the government’s clear instructions regarding curbing corruption in the property registration process. She also highlighted the successful implementation of the e-registry system in Fatehgarh Sahib district.

All Sub-Divisional Magistrates and District Revenue Officers attended the meeting.

Dr Thind stated that the primary aim of the initiative is to provide transparent and timely administrative services while protecting people visiting tehsils from exploitation. She also sought feedback from the stakeholders and issued a stern warning that strict legal action would be taken against anyone demanding money in the name of any official.

She added that she personally contacts about 5 per cent of applicants for e-registry via phone to ensure that no bribe was sought at any stage. She further stated that she would make surprise visits to tehsils from time to time to review official functioning.

Dr Thind urged all present to strictly adhere to government guidelines. Among those present were SDM Arvind Kumar Gupta, SDM Amloh Chetan Bangar, and SDM Bassi Pathana.
