A team of the district Planning Department today demolished seven illegally constructed DPCs, 400 m sewer line, a 500 m stretch of lane covered with interlock tiles at unauthorised colonies on 9 acres in Lahori village and 5 acres in Madhawala village.

District Town Planner Jaideep and Kalka Naib Tehsildar Jitender Gill were present as Duty Magistrates during the drive. A police team and a sabotage squad was also present to deal with any untoward incident. Even though people protested against sabotage, the department continued with its action.

Jaideep said a showroom at Paploha village was also demolished. He said notices were given to encroachers before taking action on unauthorised colonies and illegal constructions.
