Ambala, January 6
Haryana Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala today laid the foundation stone of the Rs 85-lakh “gobardhan” project under which a biogas plant will be set up at Sullar village, Ambala.
Dushyant said last year a biogas plant was set up at Nayagaon village of the Uklana Assembly constituency. Different schemes of the Panchayati Raj Department were correlated under this project. Biogas was provided to households through pipelines.
At Sullar village, villagers will get cooking gas generated from cow dung. While it is environment friendly, it will also generate revenue for the panchayat. The organic manure from the plant would be used in the fields. Around 200 households will get biogas through this plant, he said.
The project will be completed under the joint aegis of the Swachh Bharat Mission and the Zilla Parishad through Panchayati Raj Department in about six months.
