Dera Bassi Block Development and Panchayat Officer (BDPO) Gurpreet Singh Mangat and two others department officials have been suspended for alleged involvement in the case related to missing records of six panchayats in Ludhiana Block 2.
The case relates to the award money given to the six panchayats of Ludhiana district.
The Rural Development and Panchayat Department officials said a bungling of Rs 120.87 cr is suspected and the departmental probe and a vigilance inquiry is underway.
The matter, meanwhile, has been brought to the notice of the CMO.
The suspended officials, identified as BDPO Rupinderjeet Kaur, Simrat Kaur (Social Education and Panchayat Officer with charge of BDPO) and Gurpreet Singh Mangat (Social Education and Panchayat Officer with charge of BDPO), will be reporting at the office of District Development and Panchayat Officer (DDPO) Ludhiana.
