Development authority starts work for urban projects in Mohali

The Greater Mohali Area Development Authority (GMADA) has initiated the process to develop a low density and high-end residential apartment in 317 acres of New Chandigarh area.

Decks are being cleared to carry out the environmental impact assessment study for the project and get a consultant on board for the project. Officials said the environmental clearances from the MOEF of the government of India and consent to establish will be applied for in the coming months.

Also on cards is the development of 720 acres in Ecocity-3. The project has been divided in two parts: Part A covering 322 acres and Part B 398 covering 398 acres. The development authority will be seeking environmental clearances and consent to establish after hiring a consultant for the project also. Residential, commercial and institutional properties will be offered in the land of Rasulpur, Salamarpur, Dhodemajra, Takkipur, Rajgarh, Majra, Kartarpur, Kansala and Hoshiarpur villages, which comprise of upcoming Ecocity-3 in Kharar sub division.

Meanwhile, Ecocity-2 (Extension) scheme is up and running in New Chandigarh.

The new township will have residential and commercial plots on 96 acres land. Around 29 acres have been kept for open spaces, green buffer, and roads. 17 acres is earmarked for residential plots, 10 acres for four group housing societies (2.50acre each), four acre for school, and seven acre for a park. A commercial pocket of five acres has also been earmarked in the project. Officials said 153 residential plots of different sizes, with maximum of 110 plots of 500sq yards will be on offer.

In commercial area, 68 plots of varying sizes will be on offer with a maximum of 38 plots measuring 3844.46sqm (saleable) total area.
