Vihaan Malhotra came up with a timely ton to help Patiala gain commanding position against Gurdaspur, during a semifinal of the ongoing Punjab Inter-District Cricket Tournament for Dhruv Pandove Trophy at Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium in Mullanpur of Mohali district.

Vihaan scored 167 off 200 balls to help Patiala achieve 341/9 in their second innings. Prabhjit Singh (51), Pavit Dhiman (35), Anantbir Singh Gill (31) and Damanpreet Singh (21) were the other main run-getters for Patiala.

Anish Sharma (4/73) remained the pick of the bowlers, while Parath Kalia (2/65), Vikrant Sharma (1/74), Vinayak Kumar (1/17) and Jai Sodhi (1/42) were the other main wicket-takers for the bowling side.

Chasing 495 runs to win, Gurdaspur posted 91 runs without any loss in their second innings when the stumps were drawn. Saksham Singh (54) and Tushar (36) remained not out.

In the second semifinal, Moga lads, while chasing Kapurthala’s target of 476 runs, posted 132/4 at the end of the third day’s play. Vaibhav Saini (50), Siddharth Sharma (28) and Sagar Khattri (20) contributed major share in the chase.

Prabhkirat Singh (2/34) was the only notable wicket-taker for the bowling side.

Earlier, Kapurthala, in their second innings, scored 285 runs before getting all out in 77.5 overs. Kamal posted 131 runs, while Jagshan Singh Cheema (58), Jaiveer Bhinder (23), Sameer Khan (20) and Moulik Chhabra (20) were the most successful scorers for the side. Shubham Rana picked 6/94, followed by Jaskirat Singh (2/87) and Harish Kumar (2/48) for the bowling side.
