Disease prevention workshop held in Panchkula
A state-level workshop on non-communicable disease prevention was inaugurated today at Lok Vishram Grih, Sector-1, focusing on strengthening health initiatives across Haryana. Experts highlighted the need for a comprehensive approach to prevention, diagnosis, and management of non-communicable disease.
Inaugurating the event, DGHS Dr Manish Bansal emphasised the importance of addressing non-communicable disease at all stages to build a healthier society. He announced that workshops would be held regularly to enhance awareness and implementation of NCD prevention programs.

Officials highlighted the Haryana government’s commitment to family health education and innovative healthcare approaches. The Care Companion Programme (CCP), a key initiative, aims to equip families with essential health knowledge to improve patient outcomes. In collaboration with Noora Health, the programme is expanding to cover 188 health facilities, including district and sub-district hospitals, community health centres, and NCD clinics.
The CCP focuses on providing guidance to patients post-hospitalisation, covering areas such as general health care, diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and post-surgery wound care.
A team of 66 district program coordinators, physicians, and other health professionals participated in the workshop.
Officials reiterated their commitment to taking the program to underserved communities and ensuring sustained efforts in NCD prevention. Future workshops will continue to train hospital staff and improve healthcare delivery across the state.
