District Bar Association chief lists priorities
Listing his priorities, Ashok Chauhan, newly elected president of the District Bar Association, Chandigarh, has said he will work for the welfare of advocates.
Chauhan has been elected to the post for fifth time.
He had earlier remained president in 2005, 2013, 2014 and 2018. Enrolled as advocate in 1990, Chauhan was also elected vice-president of the Bar Association in 2001.
Chauhan said he will ensure seating arrangements for newly enrolled advocates who don’t have a proper place to attend to clients after taking the matter with the authorities concerned. He said as number of electric vehicles was increasing with time, he will also work for installation of charging stations on the court premises.
Chauhan said he will also ensure of empanelment more hospitals for Bar members, clerks and their families. The library is outdated, therefore it will be updated and will have publications that are crucial for advocates, he added.
He said free parking space for advocates and their staff will also be provided.
