he executive committee of the District Bar Association, Chandigarh, has decided to call off their protest and resume court work from January 7.

Parminder Singh, secretary of the association, said that the decision in this regard had been taken after three police officials who allegedly manhandled and assaulted two of their members had been suspended and a department inquiry initiated against them. The suspension orders have been received by the executive committee, Parminder said.
