Lakshmi Prabha Arunkumar of Tamil Nadu won both the girls’ U-18 and U-16 titles on the concluding day of St Stephen’s School CLTA-AITA Super Series Tennis Tournament here today.

In the girls’ U-18 final, Lakshmi packed off giant killer Ruma Ashutosh Gaikaiwari of Maharashtra 6-4 6-4, while in the U-16 title clash, she humbled Haryana’s Anjali Rathi 7-5 7-6(6).

Top seed Krishan Hooda of Haryana registered a 6-2 6-1 win over state-mate and fifth seed Shashikant Rajput to complete an impressive run in the tournament.

In the boys’ U-16 summit clash, fifth seed Jitin Kumar Chetry ousted state-mate and seventh seed Sukhpreet Singh Jhoje in straight sets to claim the title. Chetry won 6-1 6-3.

Reet Mohinder Singh, member executive, and Megh Raj, chief operating officer, CLTA, later gave away the prizes to the winners and runners-up. — TNS
