The city women’s U-23 team went down against Karnataka in the T20 Trophy while local boys faced a massive an innings and 204-run defeat against Bengal in the Cooch Behar Trophy.

Playing at Lahli, city eves lost to Karnataka by seven wickets in the Women’s T20 Trophy. Batting first, Chandigarh eves posted 91/7 in the allotted 20 overs. Gulnaaz (35 off 34 balls, with three boundaries) was the main scorer for the side. Saloni picked three, while Namita, BG Tejashwini, Deeksha and Pooja claimed a wicket each for the bowling side. In reply, Karnataka scored 92/3 in 18 overs with the help of Prerna (36) and Roshi Kiran (34). Tarunika claimed two, and Aaradhana got one wicket for the bowling side.

After being defeated by Uttar Pradesh, the local U-19 team went down by an innings and 204 runs against Bengal in the Cooch Behar Trophy match. Playing in Kalyani, the local team posted 122 while replying to Bengal’s 628. After put to follow-on, the local batters faltered again and bundled out at 302.

Meanwhile, Delhi registered a commanding eight-wicket victory over Chhattisgarh at the Sector 16 cricket stadium here. Chhattisgarh batters posted 90/9. In reply, Delhi chased down the target comfortably in 13.4 overs. Madhya Pradesh defeated Bihar by nine wickets and Vidarbha beat Himachal Pradesh by seven wickets.
