On the opening day of the Richard Shear Memorial Cricket Tournament organised by St Xavier`s Senior Secondary School, Sector 44, Delhi Public School, Sector 40, recorded a five-wicket win over St Joseph’s School, Sector 44, in the boys’ U-11 category.
Batting first, the Sector 44 team scored 39 runs in the allotted 9 overs. Myuvish and Shivansh scored four runs each, while Harishit added three. Manavnoor claimed four wickets, and Jaskarna bagged two for the bowling side. In reply, the Sector 40 team achieved the target in 7 overs with the help of Aditya (8), Vedansh (7) and Tanmay (5). Divij Jain claimed two wickets, while Myuvish, Ayansh and Advik bagged one each.
In the second match, St Xavier’s, Mohali, defeated St John’s School, Sector 26, by six wickets. Batting first, the Sector 26 team made 53 with the help of Viraat (13) and Divesh (8). Apar took four and Shresth claimed two for the bowling side. In reply, Shresth (14) and Gauransh (11) helped the Mohali team reach the target. Athar claimed two wickets, while Daksh and Advik claimed one each.
