The truck driver, who knocked down three pedestrians leading to two deaths last evening, has been booked for culpable homicide not amounting to murder. The driver is at large and raids are being conducted to nab him.

The police said the driver had been identified as Ravinder Kumar Patel, a resident of Hallo Majra.

The driver lost control over the truck, which moved towards the approaching traffic and hit the victims crushing them against the wall. While Jagat Pal (40) and Sunil Kumar (32) died on the spot, the third victim, Aadesh (30), was injured.

Jagat Pal’s autopsy was conducted at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, and the body handed over to his family. — TNS
