On the opening day of the M15 Chandigarh ITF World Tour Tennis Tournament, at Chandigarh Lawn Tennis Association (CLTA), Sector 10, India’s Drona Walia easily defeated Udit Kamboj 6-4 6-3 to march into the second qualifying round.
Sarthak Sudan also marched ahead by defeating Rishit Dakhane 6-3 6-1, while Suraj R Prabodh blanked Keerthivassan Suresh 6-0 6-2. Korea’s Guen Jun Kim faced some resistance against Indian challenger Dharmil Shah before logging a 5-7 6-1 10-1 win for the second qualifying round, while Caheer Warik blanked Sajal Kesarwani easily with a 6-3 6-3 verdict.
Priyanshu Choudhary also jumped into the next round by recording a 6-3 6-4 win over Arthav Neema and Dalwinder Singh defeated Vatsal Manikantan 6-4 6-2. Bushan Haobam also logged an identical 6-4 6-2 win over Aditya Vardhan Duddupudi, while Minjonq Park of Korea defeated Bathrinath Lohitaksha in straight sets 6-3 6-2. Neeraj Yashpaul defeated Hanu Verma 6-1 6-2 and Arjun Rathi was leading 6-1 against Oges Theyjo Jaya Prakash, when the latter conceded the match.
Faisal Qamar defeated Shubh Negi 6-2 6-4, Mukil Ramanan posted a 6-4 6-3 win over Shourya Manik and Jagmeet Singh ousted Rishabhdev Rajshekhar Raman 6-2 6-1 in some straight sets results. Italian contender, Filiberto Fumagalli defeated Makar Elesin 6-3 6-1 and Deep Munim won the last qualifying match by defeating Anurag Agarwal 7-6 7-5.
