As part of the effort to promote sustainability, Jana Small Finance Bank Limited today handed over Dry Leaf Composters (DLCs) to Patiala Foundation today.
The composters will aid in converting dry leaves into organic manure, reducing waste accumulation, and promoting sustainable waste management practices.
A total of 100 household DLCs and 10 community DLCs were handed over by the bank to the foundation. These composters will be dedicated to the community and installed free of cost.
Anil Khurana, Associate Vice-President (Punjab, Haryana & Himachal) Jana Small Finance Bank Ltd., reaffirmed the bank’s commitment to green initiatives, saying, “The Bank remains dedicated to supporting sustainability efforts that positively impact the environment and society. This partnership with Patiala Foundation is another step towards building a more eco-conscious and sustainable community.”
He was accompanied by Saurabh Kumar regional head Punjab Haryana and Mandeep Singh branch manager Leela Bhawan.
Speaking at the event, Ravee Singh Ahluwalia, CEO of Patiala Foundation, emphasized the urgent need to address climate change. “Environmental sustainability is not just a choice but a necessity. By adopting eco-friendly solutions like composting, we can significantly reduce our carbon footprint and contribute to a healthier planet”, he said.
Patiala Foundation member Vikram Malhotra said that collective efforts at the grassroots level will play a crucial role in combating climate change and ensuring a sustainable future for generations to come.
