A resident of nearby Ajnali village, who came back from Dubai few days back and was suffering from fever, died in the PGI today. His dead body was brought back to the village after post-mortem. Civil Surgeon refuted the rumours that the death was caused due to coronavirus. Talking to The Tribune, Civil Surgeon Dr NK Aggarwal said the deceased had a travel history and he came to the Civil Hospital, Fatehgarh Sahib, on his own. He was checked by the doctors and found to be having some cardiac problem because of which he developed difficulty in breathing and he was referred to the PGI, Chandigarh, for further treatment. The PGI took sample of the deceased which was tested negative for coronavirus, he added.
Meanwhile, the manager of Gurdwara, Fatehgarh Sahib, with the help of district health authorities have sent 25 sewadars, who were deputed on duty at Takht Keshgarh Sahib, Anandpur Sahib, to home quarantine.
