The Deputy Mayor further said that while the Chandigarh administration is consistently seen taking strict action against illegal encroachments, Mohali administration is extremely slow and negligent.

“Recently Chandigarh administration took action on illegal jhuggis near Phase 2, after which the jhuggi dwellers have moved towards many colonies of Mohali like Amb Sahib Colony, Udham Singh Colony, Jagatpura, Badmajra and other areas. The growing population of these jhuggi dwellers has put serious pressure on the area’s basic infrastructure,” he said.
