Chandigarh: Eight local roller hockey players shine as Indian team bags gold

As many as eight local players showcased their mettle and helped the Indian U-19 team to win the gold medal during the 20th Asian Roller Hockey Tournament, in Jecheon-si (South Korea). In the final, the side posted a thrilling 3-1 win over Taipei China. Earlier, the Indian team defeated China 35-0, Macau 12-2, New Zealand 9-1 and Australia 7-2 before reaching the final and log an easy win. The team was lead by local lad Adhiraj Shaunak and other local players included, Damanpreet Singh, Saarthak Bassi, Ritesh Kamboj, Dhruv Rathee, Daksh, Mayank Saini and Ansh Sharma.
