In his complaint to the police, Chauhan stated that a man intentionally blocked his way as three women distracted him by placing bags over his shoulders. In the confusion, the group allegedly managed to remove his gold “kara” using a sharp tool.

A case has been registered. The police are scanning CCTV footage from nearby areas to identify the robbers.

On July 14, two women had tried to snatch gold bangles from a 69-year-old woman at the same bus stop. A day later, one of the women, a 40-year-old resident of Malout in Muktsar Sahib district of Punjab, was arrested for the crime.
