Employees oppose proposal capping deputation period, demand arrears

Members of the Punjab and Haryana Employees Welfare Association (Deputationist) and Joint Teachers Association (JTA) today held a joint protest at the Rally Ground in Sector 25 against the policies of the UT Administration.

Punjab and Haryana Employees Association president Ranveer Jhorar, JTA convener Ramesh Chand Sharma, legal adviser Arvind Rana, general secretary Ajay Sharma, Dinesh Dahiya, Dharam Singh, Pushpendra Brar, Sangeeta Rani and Praveen Kaur alleged that the Administration was insensitive towards its employees.

They said officials proposed to impose a time limit on deputation employees, which they would oppose. “We have been demanding that before making any policy, we should be consulted,” they added. They said fixing a time limit would be against the guidelines of the Central Government.

They said the 1,300 teachers and employees working in Samagra Shiksha have not received arrears from 2021 to 2023. They demanded that the amount should be released before March 31.
