Energy efficiency key to India’s development: Power Minister

During the state-level energy conservation awards function organised by the department to facilitate industries, building owners, educational institutions, innovative projects, and energy auditors, the Minister for Power and New and Renewable Energy Department, Haryana, Ranjit Singh, said energy efficiency holds the key to making India a developed country.
Various energy conservation and energy efficiency awards were released during the programme.
AK Singh, Additional Chief Secretary of the Energy Department, said the department has launched public-oriented renewable energy and energy conservation schemes in the state.
S Narayanan, Director Genera at the New and Renewable Energy Department in Haryana, said the state presents awards to energy consumers under different categories every year in recognition of their efforts for energy conservation and efficiency.
The award for the category of industries above 1.0 MW connected load was given to Jindal Stainless Limited, Hisar, and Victora Lifts Private Limited, Faridabad.
Similarly, awards for categories of industries below 1.0 MW, government buildings below 500 KW and above 500 KW, commercial buildings 1.0 MW and above, and others were given at the function.
