No life should be lost due to “black spots”, which are accident-prone areas on roads, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Dr Preeti Yadav said while presiding over a meeting of the District Road Safety Committee today. The DC directed all departments concerned, including transport and the Traffic Police, to continuously identify and address such spots to prevent accidents.

“Our aim is to provide safe and accident-free roads because every life lost in an accident causes irreparable harm to families,” she said, making it clear that the authorities concerned will be held accountable in case of an accident.

The DC also pointed out that foggy weather significantly increases the risk of accidents. She instructed officials to remove street vendors and other obstructions from roads.
