Entrepreneurship and Rural Development Conclave: Be innovative, initiate startups, Panjab University VC to students
Chandigarh, February 3
The Entrepreneurship and Rural Development Conclave concluded at Panjab University here today. The conclave was organised in partnership with the IIT-Ropar and the National Institute of Technical Teachers Training & Research (NITTTR), Chandigarh.
Demand for multilingual display boards
- Urging the PU authorities to encourage shopkeepers on the campus to write the content of their display boards in three languages – Punjabi, Hindi and English, Pandit Rao Dharennavar, assistant professor at PGGC Sector 46, recently submitted a letter to VC Prof Renu Vig.
- The letter mentioned that this would help students’ relatives, visiting the campus from different parts of the region, to easily read the boards and increase inclusivity.
Speaking on the occasion, PU Vice-Chancellor Renu Vig impressed upon the students to initiate and promote the startup culture by being more innovative. She asked them to take advantage of the grants available at the institutional level.
Mita Rajeev Lochan, Secretary, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, had an informal interaction with students on the issue of the transforming entrepreneurial culture in the country.
The concluding ceremony was attended by more than 3,000 students and NSS volunteers from the schools and colleges of the tricity.
Addressed by a galaxy of academic and administrative luminaries, the conclave aimed at inculcating and nurturing the spirit of entrepreneurship among students at the undergraduate level.
IIT-Ropar Director Dr Rajeev Ahuja and NITTTR Director Dr Bhola Ram Gurjar spoke at the conclave. Satish Kumar, patron, Swarnim Bharat, was also present on the occasion. The event culminated with a pledge by students to promote the culture of entrepreneurship.
