The programme included a presentation on the theme of “World Heritage Day”, release of the college Year Book and a photography and movie clip competition. As part of World Heritage Day, a special debate and quiz for the students were also organised. The participants of debate titled “Heritage buildings can withstand the impact of climate change” presented their thoughts during this programme.

Kalinga House won the Design Trophy, Cultural Trophy and the Overall Trophy and Maurya House won the Sports Trophy.

Meanwhile, Ajay Jagga, member, Heritage Items Protection Cell, UT, requested UT Administrator Banwarilal Purohit that some events (seminar/symposium/workshop etc) be organised on this day for the protection of our immovable and movable heritage. “For protection of heritage means, we need not create fresh things by cutting more jungles for creation of wood. We do not need more sand by mining illegally and so on,” he said.

The Administration, apart from other events, can also initiate a pledge for the protection of our heritage, for this day, he added.
