As part of the Wildlife Week celebrations, various competitive events were organised at Chhatbir Zoo today for school students. A total of 90 students from 10 schools participated in activities such as painting, essay writing and quiz competitions. During this special event, zookeepers shared their experiences with the visitors.
Field director Neeraj Kumar emphasised the importance of such initiatives in regions like Punjab, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh, where tigers no longer exist in natural habitats.
He highlighted that raising awareness on tiger conservation in these areas was crucial, making the zoo’s role even more significant.
