EWS flats at another site likely
Chandigarh, September 25
The Chandigarh Housing Board (CHB) is thinking of constructing the EWS flats under the general housing scheme to come up at the IT Park at some other place.
The CHB plans to float the scheme late this year or early next year. The board plans to construct 788 flats on 17 acres. It will construct two and three-bedroom flats.
Initially, the CHB had included EWS flats, but now the Board wanted to shift these to some other location.
A CHB official said the number of flats in other categories would increase if the EWS flats were shifted to some other place. The official said the Urban Planning Department had been asked to prepare a proposal in this regard.
As per the government policy, a part of land or flats has to be reserved for EWS category in every housing project. — TNS

in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is
run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
The Tribune, the largest selling English daily in North India, publishes news and views without any
bias or prejudice of any kind. Restraint and moderation, rather than agitational language and
partisanship, are the hallmarks of the newspaper. It is an independent newspaper in the real sense
of the term.
The Tribune has two sister publications, Punjabi Tribune (in Punjabi) and Dainik Tribune (in Hindi).
