A local court has rejected a bail application of Ravinder Singh Bassi, former president of the District Bar Association (DBA).
Bassi was arrested yesterday in connection with an FIR registered against him for allegedly misbehaving and making casteist remarks against a woman lawyer in the parking lot of the district courts complex in Sector 43.
The Public Prosecutor opposed the bail application. He said the investigation in the case was going on. If the accused was released on bail, he might influence the investigation. The counsel of the accused said a false case had been registered against Bassi.
After hearing the arguments, the court dismissed the bail application of the accused.
