Chandigarh, July 14
Retired police officers in Chandigarh have formed an association to serve as the eyes and ears for the city’s police. This ‘Association of Retired Police Officers in Chandigarh’ aims to bridge the gap between society and the police. Additionally, the association will offer a platform for retirees to address their concerns, such as pension delays, with the police department and UT Administration.
Retired DSP Dilsher Singh Chandel stated that the association aimed to serve as an additional layer of support for the police department. “We want to utilise the expertise we gained during our service by assisting the department,” said Chandel, the association’s president. He mentioned that the association, which recently held a meeting, was prepared to assist the department whenever the need arose.
Over 50 ex-cops have already joined the association. “Our association includes members who retired from various ranks,” Chandel added.
