Former Punjab Health Minister and senior Congress leader Balbir Singh Sidhu said the Centre of Excellence for Autism and Neurodevelopmental Disorders building in Sector 79, Mohali, is deteriorating under the AAP government. He accused the government of negligence, saying, “Machinery worth lakhs has been stolen from hospitals — who will take responsibility for this? Will the Health Minister or Chief Minister cover the costs, as these failures are a result of their mistakes?”

Sidhu further pointed out that the hospital, initially built to serve children with autism and other neurodevelopmental disorders and their families, is now being neglected under the AAP government. He emphasised that it was the first hospital of its kind in Punjab for children with autism.
