Ex-shooter kills herself at Kharar

A 40-year-old woman, mother of five daughters, reportedly shot herself dead at her house in Model Town, Kharar, this afternoon.

Sukhdeep Kaur, a former shooter, went upstairs and shot herself with her husband’s licensed pistol. The police said there was a minor argument between the couple yesterday.

Sukhdeep was a former shooter and her husband Sharanjeet Singh is a businessman. The family members were at home when the incident took place.

The police reached the spot and began investigation into the incident.

A forensic team collected evidence from the spot.

A post-mortem examination will be conducted tomorrow after taking the statements of the kin of the deceased.

The reason for the victim taking the extreme step was not known yet. However, sources said there was a minor argument between the couple over a family matter yesterday.
