During checking at BoomBox Café, a team of the department found three bottles of liquor without hologram. Besides, three bottles were found to have been obtained without any permit, said Rajesh Kumar Popli, Additional Commissioner, Excise and Taxation, UT. Popli said six bottles of different brands of liquor were found without hologram at Pipe & Barrel.

The notices were issued for breach of terms and conditions of licence by the office of the Collector (Excise) for February 11. The operators of the restaurants have been asked to give a written submission, if any, as to why their licences may not be cancelled or suspended.

The BoomBox Café was also found serving hookah to customers. The authorities have ordered the sealing of the café for violating the ban on serving of hookah in the city. — TNS
