A continuing medical education (CME) programme focusing on quality systems in transfusion medicine

was organised at the Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Sector 32, here today. The event was held in collaboration with the International Society of Blood Transfusion, Amsterdam.

Themed “Quality Systems: A Pillar of Safe and Effective Transfusion Services,” the CME was inaugurated by Prof AK Attri, Director Principal of the GMCH. He underscored the importance of maintaining high standards in blood component delivery to ensure patient safety and compliance with medical guidelines.

Distinguished experts from India and abroad shared their insights during the event.

Prof Ravneet Kaur, Head, Department of Transfusion Medicine, GMCH, emphasised the urgent need for consistent implementation of quality standards across blood centres to ensure optimal healthcare delivery.

The event drew more than 150 delegates from Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Chandigarh, and Jammu & Kashmir.
